Description:
1. Collaborate with other engaged, friendly, principles-first thinking oriented engineers to understand customer use cases and implement the core of our ML data ecosystem
2. Operate across multiple layers of the stack to design and build fault-tolerant distributed systems that enable control and optimization of our fleet of fulfillment and delivery robots
3. Develop tools to test and analyze complex systems, including those deployed in production at customer sites, and dig into critical pieces of distributed systems like logging, tracing, metrics
4. Write tooling to help you and other engineers move faster
5. Challenge and mentor other engineers
6. Code with no fear, supported by continuous builds, tests, a constructive code-review process, and a supportive culture of identifying and fixing bugs
Candidate Profile:
Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
1. 2+ years of hands-on experience in a high-level language such as Java, C++, or Python
2. 2+ years experience in distributed systems design and experience with multi-threading and concurrency
Required Skills:
1. Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, agile development, build processes, testing, and operations
2. Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and test full-stack software in a fast-paced environment
3. Experience developing cloud software services and have an understanding of design for scalability, performance and reliability
4. Experience instrumenting applications with real user metrics to reflect the customer experience
5. Track record of delivering stable, performant, secure and scalable full-stack software
6. Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
