Job Description:
1. Technical expertise in the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of software.
2. Ensures that software meets or exceed specified standards and end-user requirements.
3. Iterative feature development on an agile team.
4. Develop testable features with lean requirements and supervision.
5. Daily agile SCRUM participation.
6. Building and maintaining data ingestion routines
7. Author, update, and troubleshoot Python scripts
Candidate Profile:
Experience: Data Engineer with 3+ years of experience. Main technologies will be Python, Sqoop, Spark, Scala, and the Hadoop framework. Focus will be on Ingestion.
Required Skills:
1. Significant development experience with Python
2. Experience with Scala
3. Development experience on the Apache Spark platform
4. Development experience on the Hadoop stack
5. Experience with GIT version control
6. Ability to troubleshoot issues independently
7. Ability to mentor and lead others, and also take directions from others
8. Knowledge of CA7 and Oozie
