Role and Responsibilities:
- Support the processes for improving and expanding merchant data, including address standardization, geocoding, and incorporating new merchant data sources to assist in improvements.
- Assess quality issues in merchant data, transactional data, and other critical data sets. Support internal and external feedback loops to improve data submitted through the transaction data stream.
- Solution and present data challenges in a manner suitable for product and business understanding. Provide subject matter expertise on merchant data for the organization’s product development efforts.
- Coordinate with MC Tech to develop DQ remediation requirements for core systems, data warehouse, and other critical applications. Manage corresponding remediation projects to ensure successful implementation.
- Develop and implement MC Tech data pipelines that extract, transform, and load data into an information product that supports organizational strategic goals.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Data architecture experience and experience in building data models.
- Experience deploying and working with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, and Sqoop.
- Proficient in OO programming (Python Java/Springboot/J2EE, and Scala)
- Experience with the Hadoop Ecosystem (HDFS, Yarn, MapReduce, Spark, Hive, Impala)
- Experience with Linux, Unix command line, Unix Shell Scripting, SQL, and any Scripting language
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Domo, and/or PowerBI is a plus.
- Experience presenting data findings in a readable and insight-driven format. Experience building support decks.
