Role and Responsibilities:
- Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, and schedules.
- Collaborates with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements, and design End-to-end scenarios and test plans.
- Design and develop test automation tools and execute automation scripts.
- Enable stakeholder communication by keeping relevant parties informed of important issues, create and improving quality testing best practices.
- Leverages subject-matter expertise of product features and partners with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project managers) to drive a workgroup’s project plans, release plans, and work items.
- Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guides other engineers by developing and following the playbook, working on calls to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status, and initiating actions to restore system/product/service for simple and complex problems when appropriate.
- Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, or Python.
- OR equivalent experience.
- Excellence in software engineering practices, and coding with strong testing, debugging, and analytical skills.
- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Proven ability to plan, schedule, and deliver quality software.
- The ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements is required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to.
- OR related technical field AND 1+ year(s) technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, OR Python.
- OR Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to C, C++, C#, Java, or Python.
- OR equivalent experience.
- Develop or specify standards, methods, or procedures to determine product quality or release readiness.
- Experience in Virtualization/Storage/Network.
