Role and Responsibilities:
- Undertake and/or support investigations into matters referred by the Global Compliance Whistleblowing Team and Barclays’ business entities, principally in EME, but with Global reach where necessary.
- Conduct and/or support investigations in accordance with Compliance Investigations’ methodology and I&W handbook, utilising the dedicated Case Management System for the recording and management of casework.
- Delivery of investigations: Undertake and/or support interviews, note take during interviews, take statements, analyse facts, review e-communications, gather evidence, prepare reports and witness statements in accordance with the I&W internal milestones.
- Participation in criminal, civil and disciplinary proceedings as and when required.
- Demonstrate intellectual curiosity, a risk management mind-set and commercial awareness during investigations to enhance the quality and thoroughness of the investigation. The individual should be alive to the management of risk and impact across all business units and consider the impact of any lessons learnt.
Required Skills and Qualification:
- Experience of working in the financial services industry, with a major company in another sector or in an investigative public body or an investigative function.
- Excellent written, communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent analytical and logical reasoning skills.
- Computer literate with knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Windows packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work well under pressure with demanding multiple deliverables, working alone or as part of a team.
- Excellent organisational skills and an ability to prioritise and be flexible.
- Ability to probe and ask questions to understand difficult subject areas.
- Proactive approach with a passion for continuous improvement.
