Role and Responsibilities:
- Developing strong customer relationships to prevent competitive infiltration into the account and building customer intimacy and sales execution at all levels of the customer organization, including the ‘C’ level.
- Focusing on execution and sales strategy to maintain and expand opportunities in existing pipelines, maximizing revenue streams and margins according to company expectations.
- Initiating and developing strong customer relationships at all levels, including executives, and being responsible for direct sales activities, bookings, revenue, and margin presentations at all management levels.
- Developing and managing North India Telco accounts to grow revenue for Ciena India at appropriate margin levels.
- Collaborating closely with the Account Leader, Pre-sales, Projects, Operations, Global support teams to develop comprehensive strategies for rapid revenue growth in the short and long term.
- Demonstrating strong techno-commercial capabilities, account strategy abilities, large system sales background, and a proven track record in winning deals within complex organizations.
- Being highly motivated and possessing strong interpersonal skills, working as a team player who can influence supporters across multiple organizations.
Required Skills and Qualification:
- A business or science/engineering degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
- Experience in regional/major account/global account management.
- Extensive experience in sales, pre-sales, system sales, system engineering, or product management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the competitive landscape and the regional business market.
- Proven experience with complex sales methodologies.
- A detailed understanding of Ciena products and the future portfolio.
- Effective communication skills, including executive presence and strong written/verbal/visual/video/social skills.
- A track record of closing multi-million dollar deals, positioning solutions, developing comprehensive pricing and commercial strategies, and negotiating contracts.
- Proven ability to identify, understand, and manage relationships and decision-making processes across complex organizations.
- Experience driving sales activities, including techno-commercial presentations at all levels of Ciena and client organizations.
- A thorough understanding of the Ciena product line, features, and solutions, along with pre-sales teams.
- Experience responding to RFPs, RFIs, and quotes.
- A strong background in Optical and Data Networking and telecom operator service offerings and requirements.
