Role and Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the data universe is maintained in accordance with internal procedures and industry best practices.
- Manage reference data (stock, company, and exchange information) and price-related data sets, review and resolve exceptions in QA processes in a timely manner following operational procedures and S&P Dow Jones Indices Policies & Practices – Methodology.
- Ensure that share and free float information are researched, validated, and entered in our database and that supporting evidence is retained.
- Prioritize data-related projects to improve workflows, data quality, and systems for supported data sets.
- Investigate and respond to all data-related client requests (internal or external) within SLAs.
- Work with direct manager and leadership team to maintain proactive management of client escalations, issues, and other items that require special handling.
- Proactively communicate any issues to the rest of the team and Team Lead, as appropriate.
- Clear communication and coordination with other team members and global teams on overlapping tasks to ensure seamless handover from region to region.
- Maintain customer focus by considering the client impact of changes to indices, and communicate changes to other impacted teams in a clear and timely manner.
- Provide timely, complete, and accurate responses to client inquiries, and work with our client experience team as appropriate.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in the finance, data management, computer science, or economics disciplines.
- 0-2 years of experience in a relevant field, possess an open mind, be flexible, and able to adapt to changing priorities.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required. Additional language skills would be considered an advantage.
- Good understanding of financial markets.
- Must be able to work independently as well as in a global team environment.
- Must be able to demonstrate strong analytical and quantitative capabilities.
- Familiarity with corporate filings and related documents, understanding of shares, free float, shareholding structure, and potential impact on indices would be an advantage.
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel and other standard office software.
- Programming skills and experience preferably in Python, VBA or SQL would be a plus.
